Projects for Fall 2005 Semester
- Project Linus
- October 16th
This is our second time organizing an event for project linus. This fall, we would like to make at least another six to be donated specifically to children affected or displaced from their homes due to hurricane Katrina.
- Halloween party for Cambridge Community Center
- October 22nd
- Soup Kitchen Excursion
- November 12th
As part of an effort to get more involved in the community in our immediate area, we will be taking a trip to the local soup kitchen, just minutes away from Next House and Simmons Hall.
- Card Making Drive for Boston Children's Hospital
- November 19th
In previous years, card making events have been held in Simmons Hall. MIT students make hand-made cards for the patients at Boston Children's hospital to raise their spirits, especially as the first signs of winter become more and more prominent.
Spring 2006 Semester
- Project Heartsafe
- In coordination with MIT EMS, we hope to raise money to install at least one defibrillator in a prominent location on the MIT campus. They have also solicited our help in organizing CRP training classes for members of the community.
- Color a Smile
- For this project, we will organize an event in coordination with a Cambridge public elementary school where we work on coloring pages that are sent to nursing homes.
